 Permaculture For   Sustainable   Communities

Teaching Permaculture to create sustainable communities

Who Are We?

Permaculture For Sustainable Communities (PFSC) is a community based not for profit organisation that works in the field of permaculture agriculture, water, renewable energy and environmental conservation.
Kenya is severely impacted by the use of high amounts of chemical fertilisers that over years have degraded our soils, made our drinking water toxic and in some cases poisoned our food.
We established PFSC to initiate regenerative projects which sequester carbon in the soil while building ecological resilience and creating local ecosystems using Permaculture philosophy.
Permaculture is an innovative ethical and design based process used to make agriculture more sustainable, restore soil, conserve water and redirect waste.
Kenya is on the edge of an ecological disaster,we recognise that we must work with nature to repair damage and create food producing systems that are sustainable.
PFSC has not needed to create or devise a plan, we believe in a blueprint that already exists in the form of humanity`s collective wisdom, made manifest in applied hands-on practices and technologies that are commonly available, economically viable, and scientifically valid.

Working principles

Permaculture For Sustainable Communities (PFSC) is primarily designed to be aligned with Permacultures first principle...
Observe and interact: By taking time to engage with nature we can design solutions that suit our particular situation.
Permaculture For Sustainable Communities (PFSC) is mandated to work in Matungu Sub-County of Kakamega County, Kenya.
We work with farmers and local schools who are interested in Permaculture agriculture.
